Allyson is the daughter of Paul and Marlean Felix. Her father is an ordained minister and professor of New Testament at The Master's Seminary in Sun Valley. Her mother is an elementary school teacher. His older brother Wes has PBs of 10.23 and 20.43 sec in the 100m and 200m respectively.

Faith is a very important aspect of her life. “I’m currently a work in progress and like everyone I face struggles each and every day. My goal is to be more Christ-like and that is not an easy task.”

Schools: Los Angeles Baptist High School, University of Southern California

Allyson Felix is the first woman to win three consecutive 200m World Championships.

In high school she was nicknamed "Chicken Legs" by her team-mates. She started athletics in the ninth grade and just after a couple of months of training she was seventh in the state championships.

In 2001 she won the World Youth Championships in Debrecen, Hungary. She was only 17 when she ran 22.11 in the 200m in Mexico City in 2003.

She became professional after high school but she has graduated with a degree in elementary education.

At just 18, Felix finished as silver medallist in the 200 meters at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

“I feel so blessed that God has given me the talent of running. My running is an amazing gift from God and I want to use it to the best of my ability to glorify Him.”

The best advice she has ever received: “Running fast takes time and patience.”
