However many world records Mondo Duplantis goes on to break in his career, there is one in particular that will always stand out.
The Swedish pole vault star has broken world records indoors and outdoors, at World Championships and Olympic Games. Yet from an emotional perspective, few will ever come close to the one he broke at the Stockholm Diamond League in 2025.
In this week’s episode of our 2025 Revisited series, we take a look back at the 2025 BAUHAUS Galan and a historic afternoon in one of the Diamond League’s most iconic stadiums.
When Duplantis arrived in Stockholm in June last year, he already had 11 world records under his belt and was on course for a fifth straight Diamond League title.
Yet even as the reigning Olympic, world and Diamond League champion, there was one thing that had always eluded him: a world record on home soil.
Amid unusually good conditions in the Swedish capital, Duplantis knew he had a unique opportunity in 2025.
He delivered in style, clearing 6.28m at the first attempt and sending the 1912 Olympic Stadium into raptures.
Duplantis’ was one of several incredible performances in Stockholm last year.
Fellow Swede Andreas Almgren also delighted the home crowd with a shock, while there were meeting records for Rai Benjamin, Julien Alfred, Grace Stark, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Femke Bol.
You can catch all the highlights from the 2025 BAUHAUS Galan below.
