Olympic champion Gabby Thomas will headline the women’s 200m at the London leg of the Wanda Diamond League on July 18.
US sprinter Thomas is the fourth-fastest woman of all time with 21.60 and set what was then a meeting record of 21.82 on her last appearance in London in 2024.
This month’s race will be her first in the Diamond League since that win two years ago, after the 30-year-old missed much of last season with an achilles injury.
She is already back in formidable form this season, having set a new 100m PB of 10.95 in Botswana in April.
“London is one of my favourite Diamond League meets, and I’m excited to return as part of my preparations for September’s Ultimate Championships,” said Thomas.
“I can still remember competing in London in 2024 so clearly. The crowd was great and the atmosphere in the stadium was incredible. Training is going well, and I look forward to a great show at the Olympic Stadium.”
London is the 11th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
