WDL Final tickets sold out in two hours

This year’s Wanda Diamond League Final will take place in front of a capacity Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich after tickets for the main day of action sold out in record time this Tuesday.

The WDL Final returns to Weltklasse Zürich this year, with all 32 Diamond League champions set to be crowned on a two-day dress rehearsal for the World Athletics Championships on August 27-28.

Tickets for the second day of this year’s final, which will host 27 of the 32 disciplines, sold out in less than two hours after going on sale, faster than ever before in the history of Weltklasse.

“This year’s ticket sales have exceeded all expectations,” said Christoph Joho, co-meeting director of Weltklasse and Wanda Diamond League board member. “What we experienced among athletics fans was unprecedented. The tickets were in demand like never before. All categories are already fully booked in May, several months before the Weltklasse Zürich meeting.”

Seated tickets for the first day of the final, which will see five field disciplines at the central Sechseläutenplatz in front of Zurich’s opera house, will go on sale in June. Access to the event zone will be free of charge.
