High-class hurdles head-to-head in Rome

Cordell Tinch, Daniel Roberts, Sasha Zhoya and Lorenzo Simonelli will meet in the men's 110m hurdles at the Pietro Mennea Golden Gala Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rome next month.

Four of the world’s best 110m hurdlers will go head to head once again when the Wanda Diamond League touches down in Rome on June 6.

Local favourite Lorenzo Simonelli returns to the site of his 2024 European Championship gold medal win to take on a field stuffed with global stars including Cordell Tinch, Daniel Roberts and Sasha Zhoya.

Tinch is the man to beat in the high hurdles at the moment, having won both of the opening two Diamond League meetings in Xiamen and Keqiao.

The second of those victories was particularly impressive, with the in-form American clocking 12.87 to become the fourth-fastest man in history.

Yet the hurdles remain as competitive as ever and Roberts and Zhoya will also fancy their chances at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roberts is an Olympic silver medallist and World Championship bronze medallist, who has claimed two wins at Diamond League meetings in each of the past two seasons.

Zhoya is the reigning Diamond League champion, having burst onto the scene with victories in Paris and Brussels last season.
