Kipyegon, Warholm and Bol line up in Silesia

The Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Silesia will feature a glistening array of Olympic champions and world record holders when the Wanda Diamond League returns to Poland next month.

Faith Kipyegon, Karsten Warholm and Femke Bol have joined a star-studded line-up at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Silesia next month.

After Mondo Duplantis and Jakob Ingebrigtsen both broke world records at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial last year, the Polish meeting will once again welcome a host of world record breakers to the Silesia Stadium in 2025.

Kipyegon clocked 3:48.68 in the 1500m at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene last weekend, her fifth world record at a Wanda Diamond League meeting since 2023.

The Kenyan star makes her first ever appearance at the Silesia Diamond League on August 16, as she continues her battle for a record-equalling sixth series title.

400m hurdles world record holder Karsten Warholm is more familiar with the meeting, having stormed to an impressive victory with 46.95 in Silesia last season.

The Norwegian superstar is already in world beating form, having set two new world bests in the 300m hurdles in his opening Diamond League races in Xiamen and Oslo this season.

“I am very happy to come back to the Diamond League in Silesia. Last year’s event was incredible for me and I hope to run a really fast time in Poland this year. I hope we will all have something to be happy about,” he said.

Dutch star Femke Bol also lines up in the 400m hurdles, hoping to extend her extraordinary career-long streak of 27 Diamond League races without defeat.

The 400m indoor world record holder is also in formidable form as she chases her fifth Diamond League title, having kicked off her campaign with victories in Rabat and Stockholm.
