Video: Best of the 400m Hurdles
A string of Diamond League records for Abderrahman Samba, another last-gasp Diamond Trophy win for Kyron McMaster, and a thrillingly open contest between Dalilah Muhammad, Shamier Little and Janieve Russell. The 400m hurdles had it all in 2018.
It was a sizzling summer for Abderrahman Samba as he broke the Diamond League record four times in six meetings, finally settling on 46.98 in Paris, and becoming the second fastest man in the history of the 400m hurdles in the process.
Samba was kept on his toes by Karsten Warholm, whose best moment came in London, but both men missed out on the Diamond Trophy as Kyron McMaster once again delivered when it mattered.
In the women’s Road To The Final, Dalilah Muhammad, Shamier Little and Janieve Russell battled for the favourite’s tag, and while it was Muhammad who claimed the Diamond Trophy in the end, there were some memorable moments for the other two, most notably Little’s impressive 53.41 in Lausanne.
