Every year, the Wanda Diamond League doesn’t just unite the best athletes in the world. It also brings together some of the finest photographers in world sport.
In 2025, fans and experts once again voted for their Wanda Diamond League Photo of the Year, choosing from a range of stunning shots from accredited photographers at all 15 meetings.
This year’s shortlist included snaps of a mid-flight Mondo Duplantis in Shanghai, an emotional Emmanuel Wanyonyi on the finish line in London and the moment Faith Kipyegon broke the 1500m world record for the third season in a row in Eugene.
Yet this year’s winner was Maria Grunack’s shot of Marie-Josée Ta Lou in the 200m in Lausanne.

The image captured one of the sport’s most experienced stars amidst some of the toughest conditions ever faced at a Diamond League meeting, as she battled down the home straight in the pouring rain in Lausanne.
The full shortlist and the results for second and third place can be found on the Wanda Diamond League Instagram page.
