Diamond League record holder and Olympic champion Masai Russell will return to Wanda Diamond League action in the women’s 100m hurdles in Shanghai/Keqiao this May.
US star Russell made her first Diamond League appearances in Xiamen and Suzhou back in 2024, just months before she stormed to the gold medal at Paris 2024.
She returns to China this year following another successful campaign in 2025 that saw her claim her first ever Diamond League win in Silesia.
Russell raced to a breathtaking 12.19 in Silesia last August, setting a new series record and posting the joint third fastest time in history.
She also grabbed a second-place finish in Lausanne a week later, before just missing out on a podium place at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
Russell is the second Olympic champion confirmed for the Shanghai/Keqiao meeting on May 16, joining pole vault world record holder Mondo Duplantis on the entry lists.
Shanghai/Keqiao is the second leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Doha on May 8 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
