A year on from his emotional first world record on home soil last season, pole vault superstar Mondo Duplantis is set to return to the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Stockholm on June 7.
Swedish star Duplantis jumped 6.28m at the BAUHAUS-Galan last season, breaking the world record for the fourth time at a Diamond League meeting and for the first time in his home country.
He has since set two more world records – taking his total tally to 15 – most recently with 6.31m at the Mondo Classic in Uppsala last week.
The 26-year-old will be hoping to go even higher when he returns for his seventh appearance at the Stockholm Diamond League in 2026.
“There’s nothing better than competing at BAUHAUS Galan in front of a sold-out Stockholm Stadium. Last year was magical, and I hope we can create a similar experience together on June 7,” he said.
Duplantis is chasing his sixth Diamond League title in 2026, an achievement which would leave him just one short of the series record of seven titles.
He is also confirmed to compete at five other Diamond League meetings in 2026: Doha, Keqiao, Paris, London and Silesia.
As well as his 15 world records and five Diamond Trophies, the pole vault star has also won two Olympic gold medals and six world titles indoors and outdoors since 2020.
He will be joined in Stockholm by compatriot Andreas Almgren, who will compete in the men’s 1500m after breaking the 5000m European record at last year’s meeting.
Stockholm is the sixth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Doha on May 8 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
