Davis-Woodhall to hit the runway in Eugene

Athletics power couple Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall will both be in action at this year's Prefontaine Classic, the ninth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League.

Olympic and world long jump champion Tara Davis-Woodhall will be out to make it back-to-back wins at her home Diamond League meeting when she headlines the long jump at the 2026 Prefontaine Classic in Eugene.

Davis-Woodhall won in dramatic fashion in Eugene last year, jumping a world leading 7.07m to snatch victory in the final round.

It was her third Diamond League win in two years, following victories in Stockholm in 2025 and Rome in 2024.

The 27-year-old is currently the world number one in the women’s long jump, having won gold at both the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and last year’s World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Davis-Woodhall’s husband and fellow athlete Hunter Woodhall will also compete in Eugene in the non-Diamond League Para 100m.

The couple join a growing list of global superstars confirmed for Eugene, including Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Gout Gout, Letsile Tebogo, Masai Russell, Keely Hodgkinson and Tobi Amusan.

Eugene is the ninth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Doha on May 8 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.

The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
