Tinch, Roberts and Holloway clash in Eugene hurdles

Three of the best 110m hurdlers in the world will go head to head on home soil at the Prefontaine Classic Wanda Diamond League meeting in Eugene on July 4.

The reigning Olympic and world champions will go head to head in Eugene in July as three of the world’s best 110m hurdlers meet on home soil at the US leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League.

Cordell Tinch, Grant Holloway and Daniel Roberts will all line up in front of their home crowd at Hayward Field, joining the likes of Letsile Tebogo, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Melissa Jefferson-Wooden on an already world-class line-up at this year’s Prefontaine Classic.

Tinch is the reigning world and Diamond League champion after he soared to the top of the world rankings with a stunning breakthrough season in 2025.

The 25-year-old claimed five Diamond League wins en route to his first series title, before snatching gold in Tokyo.

That success also saw him dethrone Holloway, who had previously been the undisputed man to beat in the sprint hurdles.

Olympic champion in 2024 and silver medallist in 2021, Holloway was also Diamond League champion in 2022 and has three outdoor world titles to his name.

Roberts is the reigning Olympic silver medallist and a three-time Diamond League meeting winner, his last victories coming in Xiamen and Keqiao in 2024.

Eugene is the ninth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Doha on May 8 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.

The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
