Olympic champion Ryan Crouser and European champion Leonardo Fabbri will both begin their bid to regain the Diamond League title in the men’s shot put in Xiamen on May 23.
US legend Crouser and Italian star Fabbri lead a stacked shot put field which also includes Olympic bronze medallist Rajindra Campbell of Jamaica, world indoor bronze medallist Adrian Piperi of the USA and world silver medallist Uziel Muñoz of Mexico.
Crouser is a three-time Olympic champion and the current world record holder with 23.56m, and also won the Diamond League title in 2021.
Xiamen will be his first Diamond League appearance since 2024 after he missed much of last season through injury.
Fabbri won the Diamond League title in Brussels in 2024 with a stunning meeting record of 22.98, just months after winning European Championships gold on home soil in Rome.
Piperi, Muñoz and Campbell are both chasing their first ever Diamond League victories in Xiamen, where they will also be joined by US athletes Roger Steen and Jordan Geist.
Xiamen is the second leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
