Reigning Wanda Diamond League champion Salwa Eid Naser will launch her 400m title defence at the opening meeting of the season in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16.
Naser made an emphatic return to winning ways in the Diamond League last season, picking up her first win in the series since 2018 and claiming the title for the third time in her career.
World champion in 2019 and Olympic silver medallist in 2024, the Bahrain star is now number two in the world rankings as she sets her sights on more success in 2026.
In Keqiao, she will take on a high-class field which includes seven of the top 15 in the world rankings.
Nickisha Pryce won silver with Jamaica in the 4x400m relay at the World Championships in Tokyo last year, while Great Britain’s Amber Anning was crowned world indoor champion over 400m in Nanjing in 2025.
The field also includes Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke, Cuba’s Roxana Gomez, Chile’s Martina Weil and the USA’s Aaliyah Butler.
Shanghai/Keqiao is the opening leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which will cross four continents and 15 cities en route to the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
