Lausanne: Five Things To Look Out For

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Neeraj Chopra and Mondo Duplantis all return to Wanda Diamond League action at the 11th meeting of the season in Lausanne this Friday.

Duplantis in the city

While the main event at Athletissima will be at the Stade de la Pontaise on Friday, athletics fans in Lausanne will be in for a bonus treat the previous evening when world record holder Mondo Duplantis heads up a city event in the men’s pole vault. There will be no Diamond League points on offer, but that won’t matter to the Swede, who has already locked down his place in the series final on September 7-8th. If history is anything to go by, we may be in for another huge jump from the reigning Diamond League champion: two years ago, he cleared 6.07m on the street in Lausanne, then the highest outdoor jump for 26 years.
