Bol to headline 400m hurdles in Monaco
Dutch hurdles star Femke Bol will race at the tenth leg of the 2025 Wanda Diamond League in Monaco in July, as she bids for a fifth successive series title this season.
It will be Bol’s first appearance in Monaco since she finished third in the 400m flat at the Stade Louis II back in 2020.
Since then, the Dutch star has become one of the biggest stars of global track and field. She won bronze in the 400m hurdles at both the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games, and was crowned world champion in Budapest in 2023.
She has also dominated the Diamond League like few other athletes in the 2020s, notching up a staggering 25 victories in the series since her breakthrough season five years ago.
“I’m really looking forward to racing in Monaco, it’s always an incredible meeting. I’ve trained well this year. Monaco is one of the meetings I haven’t won yet; I would love to change that this year. I hope to run a great race and fully enjoy the atmosphere,” she said.
Bol is the second global superstar to confirm their attendance at Herculis EBS Monaco in 2025, after pole vault world record holder Mondo Duplantis locked in his return to the principality last November.
The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final, which will be held in Zurich on 27 and 28 August 2025.
