In 2026, the Wanda Diamond League will once again pay out a total of 9.24 million US dollars in prize money.
Introduced in the 2025 season, the new total represents the largest total prize money pool in the series history.
In 2026, there will also be a select number of Diamond+ Disciplines at every meeting in which athletes can earn higher prize money.
A full breakdown of the 2026 prize money structure will be published in due course.
Including promotional fees for top athletes, a total of around 18 million USD will be paid to athletes over the course of the series 16th season in 2025, with many more millions being invested in athlete services such as travel and transport, accommodation and medical and physio provision.
In total, the series has spent more than 300 million USD on athletes since it began in 2010.
This investment reflects the Diamond League’s commitment to deliver world-class conditions for athletes in a reliable and financially sustainable manner.
Prize money is entirely gender-equal, with exactly the same rates for male and female athletes. The allocation of Diamond+ Disciplines are also split equally between male and female events at each meeting.
The prize money increase introduced in 2025 affects all 32 Diamond Disciplines, benefitting athletes across the full diversity of track and field.
