With just two days to go until the Wanda Diamond League Final in Zurich, the stage is set for a world-class showdown between the biggest names in track and field.
The entry lists for the final have now been published, promising two days of rivalries, record chases and riveting races at Weltklasse Zürich.
The first day of the Final will see five field disciplines held at a street event on Zurich’s Sechseläutenplatz, directly in front of the city’s iconic opera house.
Pole vault world record holder Mondo Duplantis will be aiming to win a fifth successive Diamond League title, while Olympic champion and silver medallist Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Nicola Olyslagers resume their rivalry in the women’s high jump.
The remaining 27 Wanda Diamond League champions will be crowned in the course of a bumper programme at the famous Letzigrund Stadium on Thursday evening.
Olympic 100m and 200m champions Noah Lyles and Letsile Tebogo face off in the men’s 200m, with Tebogo hunting a first ever Diamond League title and Lyles looking to win the trophy for a record-breaking sixth time.
Olympic and Diamond League champion Julien Alfred also lines up in the women’s 100m, while 800m star Emmanuel Wanyonyi and 400m hurdles ace Femke Bol will also be looking to defend their series titles.
India’s Neeraj Chopra is out to regain the Diamond Trophy in the men’s javelin and Valerie Adams is hoping to make it five titles in a row in the women’s discus.
The majority of athletes have qualified for the Wanda Diamond League Final via the Road to the Final. A handful will compete in Zurich on global or national wildcards.
About the Wanda Diamond League
The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final, which will be held in Zurich on 27 and 28 August 2025.
The first day of the Final will be held as a street event at Zurich’s Sechseläutenplatz and will feature five field disciplines: the men’s pole vault, the women’s high jump, the men’s long jump and the men’s and women’s shot put.
The remaining 27 disciplines will all be staged at the Letzigrund Stadium on the second day of the final in a bumper four-hour programme of world class athletics.
