The Wanda Diamond League returns in style next Saturday with a glistening line-up of Olympic, world and series champions in action at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial.
After a several-week break, the Silesia leg of athletics’ premier one-day series kickstarts the business end of the season as the world’s best set their sights on the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo and the Wanda Diamond League Final in Zurich on August 27-28.
With plenty still at stake on the Road to the Final, the Silesia entry lists are jam-packed with global champions and world record holders.
US stars Sha’Carri Richardson and Melissa Jefferson-Wooden face off in the women’s 100m, while Jamaica’s three-time Diamond League champion Shericka Jackson returns to action in the 200m.
Olympic champions Marileidy Paulino and Keely Hodgkinson line up in the women’s 400m and 800m respectively, with the British middle distance star hoping to make a long-awaited return to Diamond League action after an extended injury break.
The women’s 100m hurdles also sees the world’s best lock horns, with a two-heat line-up which includes world record holder Tobi Amusan, Olympic champion Masai Russell and Jamaican stars Ackera Nugent, Megan Tapper and Danielle Williams.
