Teenage sprint sensation Gout Gout is set to make his senior Diamond League debut when he lines up in the men’s 200m at the Bislett Games in Oslo on June 10.
Fresh from his historic world U20 record at the national championships on Sunday, the 18-year-old is now gearing up for his first full season in athletics’ premier global series.
Gout clocked 19.67 in Sydney, breaking Usain Bolt’s previous U20 record and earning further comparisons with the Jamaican legend.
He will now be hoping to continue that form in Oslo , where he will take on a field which includes Alexander Ogando, Courtney Lindsey and Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo.
It will be the first of two confirmed Diamond League clashes between Gout and Tebogo this year, with the two men also set to lock horns at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on July 4.
Oslo is set to be Gout’s first senior appearance at a Diamond League meeting, after winning his first race on the circuit in an U23 200m in Monaco last season.
His clash with Tebogo will be the second high-profile, Diamond League men’s 200m race in the space of a few days.
On Tuesday, Stockholm’s BAUHAUS-Galan (June 7) also confirmed a world-class field headlined by two-time Diamond League champion Kenneth Bednarek.
The 2026 Wanda Diamond League begins in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
