Hodgkinson takes on fellow Brits in Stockholm 800m

Keely Hodgkinson, Jemma Reekie and Georgia Hunter Bell will go head to head in the women's 800m in Stockholm in June.

Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson will take on her fellow British stars Jemma Reekie and Georgia Hunter Bell in a high-quality women’s 800m race at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Stockholm on June 15.

Hodgkinson made her international breakthrough in Stockholm back in 2021, claiming her first win en route to a maiden Diamond League title.

She has since become one of the most successful British runners in history, claiming four Olympic and World Championship medals and breaking the British record.

“Stockholm will always be a special place for me to compete in. It was where I first realised that I could really compete with the best in the world, and to come back here as an Olympic champion feels fantastic. I really hope we can give the crowd a fast and entertaining race”, says Hodgkinson.

Scottish star Reekie has good memories of Stockholm, having won two of her four career Diamond League wins at BAUHAUS-Galan in 2020 and 2024.

“I enjoy competing in Stockholm, and it is inspiring to go into the competition with two victories from previous year. I had a fantastic season in 2024, and hope to run even faster this year – and hopefully secure another victory at BAUHAUS-galan”, says Reekie.

Hunter Bell won 1500m bronze at the Olympic Games in 2024 and will be chasing her first ever Diamond League win this season.
