Hull returns to site of world record in Monaco

Australia's Jessica Hull will return to the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Monaco in July, a year after she broke the 2000m world record at Herculis last season.

A year on from her sensational 2000m world record in the Wanda Diamond League in 2024, Australian middle-distance star Jessica Hull will make an emotional return to Herculis EBS Monaco on July 11.

Hull made athletics history in Monaco last year when she clocked a breathtaking 5:19.70 to claim her first ever Diamond League win and become the fastest woman ever over two kilometres.

It was one of six world records set in the Wanda Diamond League in 2024 and one of 13 over the past two seasons.

This year, Hull returns to compete in the 1000m, where she will hope to attack the Oceanian record of 2:32.94 set by compatriot Abbey Caldwell at the Diamond League season opener in Xiamen last month.

She joins a growing list of stars already confirmed for Herculis EBS Monaco, including pole vault world record holder Mondo Duplantis, high jump Olympic champion Hamish Kerr and her fellow Australian, the teenage sprint sensation Gout Gout.
