London: Wanda Diamond League Call Room

Join European 1500m champion Laura Muir, South African sprint star Akani Simbine and Jamaican legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the London edition of the Wanda Diamond League Call Room this Saturday.

The Wanda Diamond League season is scheduled to begin in earnest next month, with the new provisional calendar set to kick off in Monaco on August 14.

For the time being, the wait for competitive athletics goes on, and where better to wait than in the Wanda Diamond League Call Room?

In the latest episode of our lockdown series, we take a look back at some of the most memorable moments from the last ten years of the London Diamond League, a meeting which has seen all manner of emotional comebacks, home soil heroics and record-breaking performances.

We also have exclusive interviews with three stellar guests, all of whom will look back on some of their favourite memories from the British capital.

Scottish 1500m star Laura Muir talks about breaking Kelly Holmes’ British record in the London Stadium, as well as her struggles with injury last year and what it felt like to win her two Diamond League titles in 2016 and 2018.

South African sprint sensation Akani Simbine talks us through his impressive victory in London last season, and explains why he is determined to beat the African 100m record before his career his out.

And last but certainly not least, Jamaican 100m legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce talks about her adoring fans in the UK, balancing her world-beating career with parenting duties, and why training in lockdown has been both a mental and a physical challenge.

The episode will be available live and on demand on Facebook and YouTube from 18.00 GMT/UTC this Saturday, 4th July.
