Road To The Final So Far: Part One
The IAAF Diamond League will enter the climactic phase of the season when the Road to the Final resumes in Birmingham on August 18, but before that, it is time to look back at what has happened so far in 2019. In the first of a two-part series, relive the twists and turns of the early season in Doha, Shanghai, Stockholm, Rome and Oslo.
Brussels: The outstanding Jakob
Belgium has the Borlée brothers, Norway has the brothers Ingebrigtsen. Their names are not Kevin, Jonathan and Dylan but Henrik, Filip and Jakob. And they are no quartermilers, but middle distance runners. In the 1500 meters the hardly 18 year old Jakob Ingebrigtsen has already secured his ticket for the IAAF Diamond League Final at the AG Memorial Van Damme in Brussels.
Zurich: Three world record holders already confirmed
The first top athletes have confirmed their participation at the IAAF Diamond League Final at Weltklasse Zürich. Among them are three current world record holders. Not all qualifications have been completed yet and most of the top stars will confirm their participation during the next weeks.
