Holloway to headline 110m hurdles in Silesia

US hurdles star Grant Holloway will return to the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Silesia on August 16 as part of his push for a second Wanda Diamond League title in the men’s 110m hurdles.

Holloway has been the man to beat in the high hurdles in recent years, claiming three back-to-back world titles in 2019, 2022 and 2023 and Olympic gold in Paris last summer.

He has also notched up 10 Diamond League victories in the past three seasons, including a title-winning victory at the final in Zurich in 2022.

Having missed out on the Diamond Trophy in 2023 and 2024, Silesia will be a key stop on the Road to the Final for the American as he bids to win a second series title and get in medal-winning shape ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Holloway has good memories of Silesia, having clocked a winning 13.04 at the Polish Diamond League meet in a non-Diamond League race last season.

The 27-year-old, who has long been tipped as a potential world record breaker, will also appear at the Wanda Diamond League meetings in Xiamen and Shanghai/Keqiao in April and May.

The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final, which will be held in Zurich on 27 and 28 August 2025.
