Monaco entry lists released

From Sydney McLaughlin and Noah Lyles to Yulimar Rojas and Mutaz Essa Barshim, there will be plenty of global superstars battling it out for points at the Monaco Diamond League later this month.

After a memorable World Athletics Championships in Eugene, the Wanda Diamond League resumes this month with meetings in Silesia, Monaco and Lausanne. 

The series will break new ground at its first ever meeting in Poland on Saturday, before returning to familiar territory at Monaco’s Herculis meeting on August 10th. 

The meeting at Stade Louis II promises to deliver some high-class clashes, with the a wealth of world, Olympic and Diamond League champions on the entry lists published this week. 

Fresh from her latest world record in Oregon, US star Sydney Mclaughlin will make her first Diamond League appearance in three years in the women’s 400m hurdles. 

Fellow world champions Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Noah Lyles and Faith Kipyegon will also grace the famous track on the Cvte d’Azur, and there is no dearth of Oregon gold medallists in the field events.

Qatar’s Mutaz Essa Barshim will continue his campaign for a fourth Diamond League title in the men’s high jump, while Venezuelan triple jump legend Yulimar Rojas is out to pick up her first win this year’s series.
