Pole vault world record holder Mondo Duplantis will return to the Herculis EBS Monaco in 2025 as he sets his sights on a fifth successive Wanda Diamond League title.
The reigning Olympic and world champion will be among the headliners at the Monaco Diamond League meeting on July 11th, in his first appearance at the Stade Louis II since 2023.
The 24-year-old has dominated his discipline like no other athlete in recent years, rampaging to ten world records, four Diamond Trophies, two Olympic gold medals and two world titles since 2021.
In 2024, he successfully defended his Olympic and Diamond League titles while also breaking three world records over the course of the season, most recently with his 6.26m jump at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Silesia last August.
Yet Duplantis has a score to settle in Monaco, a meeting at which he has not won since 2020. In fact, he has only won once in three appearances at Herculis, having finished second in 2019 and a surprise fourth in 2023.
The 2025 meeting will be a chance to set the record straight, while also picking up valuable points in his bid for a fifth series title. Another Diamond Trophy next year would bring Duplantis to within just two titles of the record seven held by his friend and rival Renaud Lavillenie.
