Norwegian middle distance star Jakob Ingebrigtsen is eyeing a world record ahead of two Wanda Diamond League appearances in Paris and Oslo next month.

Reigning Wanda Diamond League champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen will attempt a world record over two miles at the Meeting de Paris next month, before he and his brother Henrik Ingebrigtsen both compete at their home meeting in Oslo.

Ingebrigtsen, who got his 1500m title defence off to a winning start in Rabat on Sunday night, will attack the two-mile world record at the Paris Diamond League on June 9th, in a race which will not count towards the Diamond League standings.

The 1500m Olympic champion and 5000m world champion is then set to continue his title charge at his home meeting in Oslo six days later, where he will compete alongside his brother Henrik.

Henrik Ingebrigtsen will feature in the men's 5000m, going up alongside the likes of Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo, Ethiopia's Selemon Barega and Burundi's Diamond League record holder Thierry Ndikumwenayo. The 32-year-old is in fine form, having just set a new personal best of 13:13.19 in Belgium on Saturday.

The Wanda Diamond League is the premier one-day meeting series in athletics. It comprises 14 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 13 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final in Eugene on 16th-17th September.
