Swedish discus legend Daniel Ståhl will be hoping for a first home Diamond League win in five years when he steps into the discus ring at the BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm on June 7.
Olympic champion in 2021, Ståhl has also been a major force in the Diamond League over the past decade with 13 victories and two series titles.
The Swedish star enjoyed three back-to-back wins at his home meeting in Stockholm between 2019 and 2021, but has fallen short of victory in each of his last four appearances at the BAUHAUS-Galan.
He will be out to set that record straight in June, just weeks after launching his Diamond League campaign at the season opener in Keqiao.
Ståhl joins a growing list of superstars in action at the BAUHAUS-Galan, including fellow Swede Mondo Duplantis, 100m world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and 800m Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson.
Stockholm is the fifth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
