Tebogo and Bol among stars in Rabat

Olympic champions Letsile Tebogo and Femke Bol are among a growing list of stars who have signed up for the fourth Wanda Diamond League meeting of the season in Rabat.

Olympic champions Letsile Tebogo and Femke Bol will both be in action when the Wanda Diamond League touches down in Rabat on May 25.

Tebogo and Bol join a growing list of global stars confirmed for the Meeting International Mohammed VI in the Moroccan capital, one which also includes the likes of Hamish Kerr, Katie Moon, Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Beatrice Chebet.

Botswana’s sprint sensation Tebogo made history at the Olympic Games in Paris last August, becoming the first African man ever to win gold in the 200m.

The 21-year-old also stormed to five victories on the Diamond League circuit, winning the Jesse Owens Rising Star Award at the final in Brussels.

He will line up in the 200m at the African leg of this year’s Diamond League season, having started his season with two 100m appearances in Xiamen and Keqiao.

Fellow Olympic champion Bol will launch her campaign in Rabat, as she targets a fifth successive Diamond Trophy in the women’s 400m hurdles in 2025.

The flying Dutchwoman has dominated her discipline in the Diamond League in recent years, picking up an astonishing 25 victories in the series since her breakthrough season in 2020.

While she and Tebogo will be centre of attention on the track, there will also be a host of big names in the field disciplines in Rabat.

Olympic champion Hamish Kerr headlines the men’s high jump, while joint world champion and 2023 Diamond Trophy winner Katie Moon lines up in the women’s pole vault.

The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final, which will be held in Zurich on 27 and 28 August 2025.
