The best 100m hurdlers in the world are set to go head to head on the Wanda Diamond League stage this July when they meet at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on July 4.
Olympic champion Masai Russell will take on world record holder Tobi Amusan, two-time world champion Danielle Williams and World Athletics Championships bronze medallist Grace Stark in a star-studded race at Hayward Field.
Russell is chasing her first ever Diamond League title in 2026 after celebrating her most successful season to date in athletics’ premier one-day series last year.
The US star claimed her first Diamond League win in Silesia last August, setting a new series record of 12.19 in the process.
At her home meeting in Eugene this year, she will be joined by fellow American Grace Stark, who also showed impressive form in the Diamond League last year.
Stark broke meeting records in Keqiao, Stockholm and Paris in a run of form which set the tone for her medal-winning performance at the World Championships in Tokyo.
The Americans will face tough competition from experienced champions Williams and Amusan.
Nigeria’s Amusan is still the world record holder with 12.12 and won the Diamond League title in three successive seasons between 2021 and 2023.
Jamaican star Williams is a two-time world champion – most recently in Budapest in 2023 – and also won the Diamond League title back in 2019.
Eugene is the ninth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Doha on May 8 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
