Emma Zapletalová will be out to extend her unbeaten streak in the women’s 400m hurdles at the Lausanne leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League on August 21.
Slovakia’s Zapletalová has won all four women’s 400m hurdles races in the Diamond League this season, establishing herself as the new woman to beat after Femke Broeders-Bol’s switch to the 800m.
The 26-year-old has gone under 53 seconds three times in that unbeaten run, setting three back-to-back national records and a new meeting record of 52.30 in Doha in June.
In Lausanne, she faces Jamaica’s Rushell Clayton and the USA’s Anna Cockrell in a race that unites three of the top six in the world.
While Clayton and Zapletalová have already qualified for the Wanda Diamond League Final on September 4-5, Cockrell will be hoping to book her ticket to Brussels with a top-three finish in Lausanne.
Lausanne is the 12th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
