This week, pole vault world record holder and Olympic champion Mondo Duplantis confirmed his attendance at the Paris leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League.
Duplantis will be attacking his own meeting record of 6.01 at the Stade Charléty, a stadium which has seen a flood of records in the Diamond League in recent years.
In the latest episode of our 2025 Revisited series, we take a look back at last year’s edition of the Meeting de Paris.
It was a night which saw a flurry of meeting records from the likes of Rai Benjamin, Azeddine Habz, Grace Stark and Marileidy Paulino.
Middle-distance star Habz delighted the home crowd with a stunning French record of 3:27.49 in the men’s 1500m, with Kenya’s Phanuel Koech setting a new world U20 record in second place.
Benjamin underlined his brilliant form after an impressive win over Karsten Warholm and Alison Dos Santos in Stockholm the previous week, clocking 46.93 to win the 400m hurdles.
Fellow US hurdler Stark stormed to 12.21 to beat the likes of world record holder Tobi Amusan and Jamaican star Ackera Nugent and claim her third win of the Diamond League campaign.
Paulino, meanwhile, delivered a statement victory over Bahraini rival Salwa Eid Naser in the women’s 400m with a season’s best of 48.81.
Other highlights included a world-leading PB of 8:53.37 from world-champion-in-waiting Faith Cherotich in the women’s 3000m steeplechase, and a last-gasp victory for Valarie Allman in the discus.
