2025 Revisited: Rome

Relive major performances from Kenya's Beatrice Chebet, the USA's Trayvon Bromell and others at the 2025 Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rome.

The Wanda Diamond League returns to Rome in just over 100 days, with Italian stars Mattia Furlani and Nadia Battocletti already confirmed for this year’s Golden Gala Pietro Mennea.

In the meantime, you can relive all the highlights from last year’s meeting in the latest episode of our 2025 Revisited series.

Each week between now and the beginning of the season, full half-hour highlights packages of each 2025 Wanda Diamond League meeting will be made available on the series YouTube channel.

This week’s episode looks back at an unforgettable night at the Stadio Olimpico from Beatrice Chebet, Trayvon Bromell and Valarie Allman.

Chebet continued her extraordinary early-season form with yet another record in Rome, clocking what was then the second-fastest time ever in the women’s 5000m with 14:03.09.

A meeting record, Kenyan record and world lead, it was a result which foreshadowed Chebet’s world record in Eugene over the same distance later in the season.

Elsewhere on track, the USA’s Trayvon Bromell delivered a statement victory in the men’s 100m, posting his fastest time in three years with 9.84.

Fellow American Valarie Allman also snatched a meeting record in the women’s discus, as she continued her march to a perfect Diamond League season in 2025.

Other winners in Rome included the USA’s Anavia Battle, Jamaica’s Shanieka Ricketts and Australia’s Liam Adcock.

You can catch all the highlights from the 2025 Golden Gala Pietro Mennea below.
