Tual and Zhoya among French stars in Monaco

European 800m champion Gabriel Tual and 110m hurdles Wanda Diamond League champion Sasha Zhoya will be among the local stars at Herculis EBS Monaco next month.

A number of big-name French stars will be in action when the Wanda Diamond League returns to the francophone world for Herculis EBS Monaco on July 11.

European champion Gabriel Tual continues his hunt for a first ever Diamond League win in the men’s 800m, while reigning Wanda Diamond League champion Sasha Zhoya is set to launch his title defence in the 110m hurdles.

Both Tual and Zhoya burst onto the Diamond League scene last season, with the middle-distance star featuring in a historic 800m race in Paris and the hurdles star storming to the series title with victories in Paris, Rome and Brussels.

They are among more than a dozen French stars in action in Monaco.

Yann Schrub and Jimmy Gressier line up in the men’s 5000m, while Djilali Bedrani and Alexis Miellet take on the men’s 3000m steeplechase.

Zhoya will face experienced compatriot Wilhelm Belocian in the sprint hurdles and Agathe Guillemot goes up against 2000m world record breaker Jessica Hull in the women’s 1000m.

Louise Maraval will fly the French flag in the women’s 400m hurdles, heptathlete Auriana Lazraq-Khlass features in the women’s shot put and Thomas Gogois returns in the men’s triple jump after his third-place finish in Paris last weekend.
