The world’s best athletes head to the USA this weekend for the ninth leg of the Wanda Diamond League at the Nike Prefontaine Classic in Eugene.
The American leg of athletics’ premier one-day series promises to be an explosive affair, with some of the sport’s biggest names in action at Hayward Field.
Kenyan distance star Faith Kipyegon returns to Diamond League action following her attempt at a four-minute mile in Paris last week, while Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo resumes his rivalry with the USA’s Kenny Bednarek in the men’s 200m.
100m gold medallist Julien Alfred and double Olympic champion Beatrice Chebet will also be looking to extend their impressive winning streaks in Eugee.
US fans will also have plenty of big names to cheer, with the likes of Sha’Carri Richardson, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Quincy Hall all eyeing glory at their home Diamond League meeting.
The action starts at 12:27 local time (GMT/UTC-7) with the women’s shot put and the main programme and global broadcast begins at 13:00 local time with the men’s 400m hurdles.
