Lyles eyes more glory in Paris 100m

Olympic champion Noah Lyles will headline the men's 100m at the Paris leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League in June.

US sprint star Noah Lyles will return to the site of his 2024 Olympic triumph when he lines up in the men’s 100m at the Paris leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League on June 28.

Reigning Diamond League champion Lyles will make his third appearance at the Meeting de Paris and will be hoping to extend his impressive winning streak in the French capital.

Lyles won on both of his previous appearances at the Stade Charléty, clocking 19.65 in the 200m in 2019 and 9.97 in the 100m in 2023.

His most memorable performance in Paris came at the Olympic Games in 2024, when he defied illness to snatch the gold medal in the 100m at the Stade de France.

“I’ve been to Paris on three previous occasions and I have fond memories of all of them,” said Lyles.

“The atmosphere at the Stade de France two years ago was simply incredible. I still remember the furore of the crowds in the stands; it was crazy! Given that I’ve won each time I’ve competed at the Charléty, I just love this venue. I’m sure my run will be fast, very fast!”

Lyles is chasing a record seventh Diamond League title in 2026 as he continues to rewrite the history books in athletics’ premier one-day meeting series.

He is currently the most successful track athlete in the series history after claiming a sixth career title in the men’s 200m last year.

Another Diamond Trophy this season would see him equal the overall record held by Renaud Lavillenie and Christian Taylor.

As well as Paris, Lyles is also confirmed to race at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea in Rome on June 4 as he plots his course to the Wanda Diamond League Final.

Paris is the eighth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Doha on May 8 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.

The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
