World Championships silver medallist Emmanouil Karalis will be eyeing a second career Diamond League victory when he lines up in the men’s pole vault at the Bislett Games in Oslo next month.
Karalis iset to headline a stellar pole vault field in Norway on June 10, jumping alongside the likes of Renaud Lavillenie and Sam Kendricks.
The Greek star is one of the greatest pole vaulters in history and has established himself in recent years as the only serious challenger to the hegemony of world record holder Mondo Duplantis.
Karalis won World Championships silver and Olympic bronze behind Duplantis in 2025 and 2024 and pushed the Swedish star to the limit at last year’s Wanda Diamond League Final in Zurich.
His personal best of 6.17m makes him the second best pole vaulter in history, with only Duplantis having jumped higher.
With Duplantis absent due to his wedding celebrations, Oslo is a rare chance for Karalis to snatch a victory after claming his first Diamond League win in Lausanne last season.
He goes up against a tough field that includes two-time world champion Kendricks and seven-time Diamond League champion Renaud Lavillenie.
Norwegians Sondre and Simen Guttormsen will have the support of the home crowd, while Kurtis Marschall, Menno Vloon, Thibaut Collet and Zachery Bradford will also feature
Oslo is the sixth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
