Brussels is the ultimate goal for the world’s best athletes in 2026 as they go head to head on four different continents in the Wanda Diamond League.
The Belgian capital will host the Diamond League Final on September 4-5 this year, with the sport’s biggest stars set to battle it out over two days of action for one of the most important titles in track and field.
In the penultimate episode of our 2025 Revisited series, we take a look back at last season’s Allianz Memorial Van Damme, which was the last stop on the Road to the Final.
The meeting saw a slew of world-class performances, most notably from Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and Winfred Yavi.
Jefferson-Wooden stormed to a comfortable win in the women’s 100m with 10.76, notching up her third Diamond League victory in two months.
Yavi, meanwhile, made athletics history as she headlined the first ever 1000m steeplechase held at a top-level athletics event, clocking a world best of 4:40.13.
Chase Jackson grabbed a meeting record in the women’s shot put, while Niels Laros set a new Dutch record in the men’s 1500m.
