2025 Revisited: Final in Zurich

This Saturday, the 2026 Wanda Diamond League season will get underway in Shanghai/Keqiao.

The season finale is a chance to win one of global sport’s prestigious titles and join an illustrious of historic Diamond League champions that includes the likes of Usain Bolt, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, David Rudisha and Allyson Felix.

In the final episode of our 2025 Revisited series, we take a look back at last year’s Wanda Diamond League Final in Zurich, which saw several athletes made track and field history.

US sprinter Noah Lyles became the most successful track athlete in Diamond League history when he beat Letsile Tebogo in the men’s 200m to win his sixth career Diamond Trophy.

Meanwhile, Dutch star Femke Bol extended her extraordinary Diamond League winning streak to 30 competitions as she claimed a fifth title in the women’s 400m hurdles.

Julien Alfred defended her title in the women’s 100m, while Valarie Sion (then Allman) completed a perfect season in the women’s discus, claiming her sixth win in six competitions to secure a fifth career Diamond Trophy.
