A year on from his French record at the Stade Charléty last year, reigning Wanda Diamond League champion Jimmy Gressier returns to action in the men’s 5000m at the Meeting de Paris on June 28.
Gressier won the Diamond League title over 5000m last season, becoming only the third European to do so after Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Mo Farah.
That triumph was one of several highlights in a season which also saw Gressier crowned world champion over 10,000m and break his own 5000m French record in Paris.
A year on, the Frenchman returns to Paris as world number one, chasing a first Diamond League win on home soil.
“I love Paris and the Stade Charléty because every time I have run there I have ended up with a good result and great memories,” said Gressier.
Paris is the eighth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
