Wanda Diamond League champions Gianmarco Tamberi and Jakob Ingebrigtsen will return to the site of their 2024 title victories when they line up at the Brussels leg of the Road to the Final on August 22.
The two men are the first two international superstars to be confirmed for this year’s Allianz Memorial Van Damme, which takes place in the Belgian capital in 100 days time.
Ingebrigtsen broke the 2000m world record in Brussels in 2023, before winning the 1500m in the same city a year later to claim his fourth Wanda Diamond League title.
2021 Olympic champion Tamberi also triumphed at last year’s final in the men’s high jump, winning his third Diamond Trophy.
The Brussels meeting will be the last opportunity for athletes to earn points on the Road to the Final and qualify for the two-day season finale in Zurich on August 27-28.
