World record holder Mondo Duplantis will take on his biggest rivals at the pole vault city event at Athletissima Lausanne on August 20.
The lakeside pole vault event at Place de la Navigation will see Duplantis take on world number two Manolo Karalis, world number three Kurtis Marschall and former Olympic and world champions Renaud Lavillenie and Sam Kendricks.
Greek star Karalis is the second-highest pole vaulter in history and the only man other than Duplantis to have jumped higher than 6.16m.
Australia’s Marschall has been the rising star of this season, inflicting a first defeat in three years on Duplantis with a sensational win in Oslo in June.
Lavillenie is the most successful individual athlete in Diamond League history, with seven series titles and 37 individual victories. The Frenchman is also the only athlete to have made more than 100 Diamond League appearances.
Kendricks was world champion in 2017 and 2019 and has two titles and 19 wins in the Diamond League.
Lausanne is the 12th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
