Kebinatshipi to continue title charge in Silesia

Botswana's Busang Collen Kebinatshipi will headline the men's 400m at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Wanda Diamond League meeting in Silesia next month.

World champion Busang Collen Kebinatshipi will continue his bid for a first Wanda Diamond League title in the men’s 400m in Silesia on August 23.

Botswana’s Kebinatshipi has been dominant in the Diamond League so far this season, with four successive wins in Xiamen, Paris, Eugene and Monaco.

He has broken the Diamond League record twice in the last month, clocking 43.54 in Paris and 43.44 in Monaco.

The 22-year-old has already qualified for the Wanda Diamond League Final in Brussels on September 4-5, but Silesia will be a crucial test of form just two weeks before the season finale in Belgium.

He joins a growing list of global champions at the Polish meeting, with Mondo Duplantis, Julien Alfred, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and Oblique Seville among those scheduled to start.

Silesia is the 13th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.

The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
