Soufiane El Bakkali and Marileidy Paulino are the latest global superstars to join a stellar line-up at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Silesia on August 23.
3000m steeplechase star El Bakkali and 400m ace Paulino are among five Olympic champions added to the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial entry lists this week, alongside discus thrower Roje Stona and hammer throwers Ethan Katzberg and Camryn Rogers.
Both El Bakkali and Paulino are looking to regain the Diamond League title in 2026 and both have already shown winning form this season.
Morocco’s El Bakkali set a world lead of 7:57.25 at his home Diamond League meeting in Rabat in May before following up with back-to-back victories in Stockholm and Doha.
Dominican Republic star Paulino has bounced back emphatically from her defeat in last year’s final with four wins this season, including meeting records in Doha and Monaco and a Diamond League record in Paris.
Jamaica’s Stona will be chasing his first Diamond League win in Silesia and looking to secure his place in the Wanda Diamond League Final in Brussels on September 4-5.
Canadians Rogers and Katzberg will both be looking to build on Commonwealth Games success as they line up in non-Diamond League hammer competitions.
Silesia is the 13th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
