Four-time series champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen will make his long-awaited Wanda Diamond League comeback in the men’s 1500m at in Zurich on August 27.
Norwegian distance star Ingebrigtsen is one of the most successful athletes in Diamond League history, with 21 victories and four series titles to his name.
Yet he has not competed at a Diamond League meeting since 2024 amid struggles with an achilles injury over the past two years.
He returns to Diamond League action in Zurich, taking on a world-class field that includes Olympic champion Cole Hocker and world champion Isaac Nader.
A two-time Olympic champion and two-time world champion himself, Ingebrigtsen dominated both the middle and long distance events in the Diamond League in the early 2020s.
In 2023, he won the Mile/1500m and 3/5000m titles at the Wanda Diamond League Final in Eugene, becoming only the third athlete in history to win two Diamond Trophies in two days.
Ingebrigtsen has also broken countless records on the Diamond League stage, including the 2000m world record in Silesia in 2024.
Zurich is the 14th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
