Top three triple jumpers to clash in Lausanne

Pedro Pichardo, Andy Díaz Hernández and Jordan Scott will go head to head in the men's triple jump at the Athletissima Wanda Diamond League meeting in Lausanne.

The three top-ranked male triple jumpers in the world will do battle at Lausanne’s Athletissima on August 21, in a final bid to qualify for the Wanda Diamond League Final.

World champion and current world leader Pedro Pichardo will take on reigning Diamond League champion Andy Díaz Hernández and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Jordan Scott at the Stade de la Pontaise.

Pichardo, Díaz Hernández and Scott have each won one of the three men’s triple jump competitions on the Road to the Final this season, and Lausanne will be the final decider in the race to qualify for the final in Brussels on September 4-5.

Portugal’s Pichardo sailed to a world lead of 17.71m in Doha in June and is out to regain the Diamond League title he previously won in 2018, 2021 and 2024.

Italy’s Díaz Hernández opened his title defence with a victorious 17.59m on home soil in Rome.

Jamaica’s Scott is the only man to have booked his place in the 2026 final so far, thanks to victory in Oslo and second-place finishes in Rome and Doha.

Lausanne is the 12th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.

The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
