Femke Broeders-Bol and Audrey Werro will continue their fledgling rivalry in the women’s 800m at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Lausanne on August 21.
Broeders-Bol and Werro met for the first time in Ostrava last week and will go head to head on the Diamond League stage for the first time in Paris on Sunday.
They return to action later in the season in Lausanne, when both will be looking to fine tune their campaigns ahead of the series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
Dutch star Broeders-Bol has won the 400m hurdles title in each of the last five Diamond League seasons, racking up an unbeaten streak of 30 Diamond League races in the process.
Yet the 26-year-old has opened a new chapter of her career this season, switching her attention instead to the 800m.
She is the current world leader over 800m, having posted the third-fastest time in history with 1:53.98 at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm earlier this month.
Lausanne is the 12th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
