A year on from his stunning victory over Noah Lyles, Jamaican sprint star Oblique Seville will return to the London Wanda Diamond League meeting in the men’s 100m on July 18.
Seville stormed to an impressive 9.86 in London last year to land his first ever Diamond League victory and beat the likes of Lyles, Zharnel Hughes and Letsile Tebogo.
It was the first of several statement wins from the Jamaican en route to the World Championships in Tokyo, where he became the first Jamaican since Usain Bolt to win gold over 100m.
The reigning world champion returns to London next month with his sights set on more Diamond League glory in 2026.
“To get the Diamond League win in London last year was very special to me and I can’t wait to get back out there and do it all again,” he said.
“London will always hold great memories for me, from the noise of the crowd to competing against the best athletes in the world. It also gave me the confidence I needed heading into the World Champs and inspired me to push even harder. This time around I start as world champion, a title which brings with it pressure but also privilege, and I want to enjoy every second.”
London is the 11th leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
