French 100m hurdler Cyréna Samba-Mayela will return to Paris for the first time since she won Olympic silver there in 2024 when she takes on a star-studded field at her home Wanda Diamond League meeting on June 28.
Samba-Mayela will make her first Diamond League appearance in two years at this year’s Meeting de Paris, where she will take on the likes of world champion Ditaji Kambundji and world record holder Tobi Amusan.
Born just a few miles away from Paris in Champigny-sur-Marne, the 25-year-old will expect a raucous reception from the home crowd at the Stade Charléty.
Samba-Mayela finished second in the Olympic final at Paris 2024, but missed much of the following season through injury.
She returns to Diamond League action this year in what remains one of the sport’s most competitive disciplines.
Kambundji and Amusan will also fancy their chances of victory in Paris, while Dutch star Nadine Visser and Bahamian world indoor champion Devynne Charlton are also on the entry list.
Paris is the eighth leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which began in Shanghai/Keqiao on May 16 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4-5.
The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
